NOMET'S INGREDIENTS: SUSTAINABILITY AND QUALITY AT THE HEART OF OUR RECIPE
Local Partnerships
Our seaweed is sourced from the Dutch province of Zeeland, near the Belgian border. We purchase our key ingredient directly from local seaweed farmers in the Eastern Scheldt. It is cultivated using a wire system that allows for deep water farming without disturbing existing ecosystems. By carefully selecting our ingredients and where they come from, we strive to minimize our impact on the environment while still providing high-quality products for our customers.
Did you know that seaweed cultivation can help combat ocean acidification and global warming? By absorbing and capturing dissolved CO2, seaweed improves the local acidity of the water and transforms it into organic carbon. This process helps to reduce the amount of CO2 in the ocean, which is a major contributor to ocean acidification and global warming. So, not only is seaweed a tasty and nutritious food, it's also a powerful tool in the fight against climate change!
We are proud to partner with La Vie Est Belle Veggie Food to ensure that we are using the highest quality, organic ingredients in our products. La Vie Est Belle has a strong commitment to working with organic farmers and local partners, which helps us to support sustainable agriculture and promote the use of healthy, natural ingredients.
NOTHING TO HIDE
At Nomet, we believe that alternative seafood can be just as delicious as the real thing without relying on artificial flavourings or colourants. Our uniquely-tasting croquette is made with only whole seaweed plants and fresh vegetables, resulting in a truly natural and flavourful dish.
We use Wakame (Undaria Pinnatifida) seaweed.
We also make a conscious decision to pack our croquette with visible chunks of seaweed, so you can see and taste the high-quality ingredients that go into every bite.

Excellent TASTe
We are committed to using only the highest quality, whole ingredients to create a rich and flavorful taste in our products. We never use artificial flavorings or extracts, ensuring that every bite is natural and delicious. By using whole, fresh ingredients, we are able to create a truly unique and satisfying taste that is sure to delight your senses.
SUSTAINABLE
We believe in using organic, sustainable ingredients that respect the environment and the well-being of animals. We prioritize plant-based, locally grown ingredients whenever possible, as this helps to reduce carbon emissions and support local communities. Our vegetables are sourced from Belgian farmers and our seaweed is carefully selected from the Netherlands' Oosterschelde region. This is how we are able to create delicious, nourishing products that are good for both our customers and the planet.
UNIQUE
Nomet's recipe is inspired by a Belgian classic, but with a twist that sets it apart from the rest. The familiar creamy base and salty sea-taste are sure to satisfy your cravings, but the unique flavor profile makes our product truly one-of-a-kind. Some even call it 'future-proof' – try it for yourself and see why!

For the best results, we recommend preparing our seaweed croquettes in a frying pan heated to 170 degrees Celsius. Simply deep fry the croquettes for 9-10 minutes from frozen to achieve a crispy exterior and a warm, flavourful interior. If you don't have a frying pan, you can also use a regular cooking pot with a thermometer to monitor the temperature. Follow these simple instructions for perfectly cooked croquettes every time!
-
Yes, our seaweed croquettes contain gluten (wheat) and celery. They are produced in a factory that also processes other allergens, including gluten-containing grains, egg, soy, milk, nuts, mustard seeds, and sesame seeds. Additionally, seaweed is cultivated in the same environment as fish, crustaceans, and molluscs, so it is possible that trace amounts of these allergens may be present due to cross-contamination. Please take this information into consideration if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions.
-
Unfortunately, the best way to achieve the optimal crunch for our seaweed croquettes is through deep frying. While it is possible to prepare the croquettes in an oven or airfryer, the result may not be as crispy as deep frying. Please note that our croquettes are currently not pre-fried, so deep frying is the only recommended preparation method at this time.
-
Currently, our seaweed croquettes are only available in a frozen form. While we do not add any preservatives to our product, using whole ingredients and freezing them allows for a long shelf life and helps to reduce food waste. By freezing the croquettes, we are able to preserve their freshness and flavour until they are ready to be cooked and enjoyed. So for now, the frozen croquettes are the best way to enjoy our product.
